Hong Kong Lightning

Hong Kong Lightning, originally uploaded by Octopuscard.

Last night, just as I was about to go to bed, we had some thunder and lightning. I couldn't miss this opportunity to try and capture some bolts - not bad for a first attempt.

Really nice photo, thanks Luke. I also saw the lightning spectacle that evening (and from HK side). From the looks of the shot you have, that particular lightning strike looks like the "late phase" of a fantastic forked lightning that I happened to see when I looked out the window. Did it have multiple streaks/forks?

No, I didn't see multiple streaked forks on that strike, but they could have been behind buildings.
