"When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence. " Ansel Adams (1902-1984). In this blog I will share photographs that I have taken. Most of the photographs are memorable to me, for one reason, or another. They may be totally meaningless to you, the viewer, but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

A couple of street musicians in Copenhagen playing the xylophone. Slow speed used to blur the movement of the sticks.
This morning there was a demonstration of "Parkour" in one of the squares in Copenhagen. I managed to capture this traveus in mid-leap.
Last week's bar photo was the Whiskey Priest (an anagram of Sheep Kiwis Try).
No bar phot this week; not because Copenhagen doesn't have any bars, but because I didn't take any photos of them.
This photo was taken in Stroget, the big pedestrian precint in Copenhagen.
Photographed in Sheung Wan Station the other day, playing about with depth of field.
Last week's photo was taken in Lux (the clue was in the title Illumination).
This week another LKF bar, and another clue in the title, its an anagram.
Last week's photo was taken in the Bulldog Bar in Lan Kwai Fong, not the main bar, but the bar on the balcony.
This weeks photo is another bar in Lan Kwai Fong - and there is a clue in the title. Can anyone guess which one?
OK he's not as pretty as some of the girls, whose photos I have been putting up, but he was entertaining.
US Navy personnel on shore leave, enjoying the jazz band during the beer festival.
Again, a lovely promotion girl from the LKF party this weekend. If you notice a sort of hazey look top this photo, its because one of the food stalls, nearby, was burning some food! Honest!
I took this candid shot during the weekend at the LKF Julyfest. She is a promo girl for NowTV, ain't she cute?
Still no takers! Last week's photo was from the Hong Kong Brew House.
To the anonymous person who left a comment - yes, there are bars that are not noisy and crowded, but it depends a lot on when you visit them. On a Saturday night, when the US Navy is in town, its going to be hard to find a bar in LKF that isn't noisy and crowded.
This week's photo is taken in a bar in LKF. Can anyone guess which one it is?
I spotted this little cutey at the Lan Kwai Fong beer festival on Saturday. Isn't she lovely?
Last week's photograph was taken in La Dolce Vita 97 Bar, in Lan Kwai Fong.
This week's photo is taken in a popular bar on D'aguilar Street.
For some reason, I woke up at sparrow fart, this morning. However the upside w\as that I was able to capture the light just before sunrise. I like the relection on the side of the building.
Sometimes it pays to look up! I have walked past this collection of aircon intakes many times since I have been in Hong Kong, but never noticed them before,as I wa too busy peering into the bars of Lan Kwai Fong.
Noticed them the other day, and took a picture. Very happy with the way the light changes as the reflections of the bar lights fade.
Well, no right answers to last week's poser, but at least some interest was shown! The photo was of Bar George, the front bar was shown, and the clue was the white rugby shirt in the background, even if it was way out of focus.
This week we have a bar in Lan Kwai Fong. This one should be easy, even if you have never been there!
Some kind of promotional launch, last evening in Lan Kwai Fong. I have never seen such a fuss over a boring car!
Mind you with all the people carrying bunches of flowers, I guess there was some kind of celebrity involved, but I couldn't be bothered to wait and find out.
I spotted this photo shoot going on in Lan Kwai Fong the other evening, so I grabbed my camera and took a couple of shots of the models from behind.
Traffic coming along the flyover, onto Cotton Tree Drive. Long exposure without a flash to creat the white streaks of the headlights. I also like the starring of the street lamps
I was a little surprised by the lack of response to last weeks bar quiz. Probably it was so easy, that you all couldn't be bothered to submit your answers. With the guitars on the wall and the tall bar shelfing behind as the give aways, I expected a lot of people to correctly identify it as Carnegies.
So, this week I am making it a little harder. The bar is on D'aguilar Street, and there is a big clue in the picture!
These were taken in one of those paper goods shops in Western District. The first shot was taken at a slow shutter speed, the second at a higher speed.
These three delightful pirates allowed me to take their picture last night in Lan Kwai Fong.
When I was a lad I always wanted to own an E-type Jag. This one belongs to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.
On Stone Nullah Lane is this blue coloured building. Rumour has it that the only colour paint the council had left was blue.
The other evening I was camped by the HK Convention centre, waiting for the fireworks to start. I looked around and saw this photo opportunity.
It was taken with a wide angle lens, with a nice bit of bokeh coming from the top left corner.
Shame about the security guard who got in the way!
New feature for this blog - the bar of the week. Every week I plan to post a picture of a bar in Hong Kong (OK I know that favours people who know Hong Kong) and you have to guess the name of the establishment. No prizes apart from knowing that you are a bigger bar crawler than me.
We will start with an easy one from Wanchai. Answer next Monday. Good luck!
I love the ornate details that you see on temple roofs. This one is Hung Sing Fisherman's temple in Wanchai. Apparently Queen's Road East used to be on the shoreline!
I really like the symetry of this shot, with the refection in the foreground. Its just a shame about the crowd barriers and the scaffolding on the building behind
One of my favourite shots I have taken at night in Hong Kong. Shame about the smudge on the left hand side of the photo, though.
These canvas sided trucks are a must for deliveries in Hong Kong.
And they are colourful, but sometimes you can't guess what's inside them and sometimes you probably don't want to know!
I went to the DSragon & Lion Dancing in Kowloon, yesterday. At the start it was a massive scrum, with TV crews, the press and, like me, amateur photographers; but once the procession moved off the press disappeared, which left the Convention Centre Plaza clear for the amateur photographers and the later Dragon and Lion teams.
