Photoshoot
4pm in Lang Kwai Fong. Sun is behind me, but I am in the shade. Sunlight is bouncing off the glass of a tower block in Central, This is then bounced off a reflector in front of the girl.

Hong Kong Cricket Sixes - Day 2
Exposure: 1/1600 sec
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 340 mm
ISO Speed: 500
Another one from Sunday's cricket, the second match of the day, South Africa v Hong Kong. During this game one of the South African batsman ( I can't remember his name) hit a six straight at the Kukri Allstarzz dancers, sending them scattering for cover.

Flowers
Exposure: 1/125 sec
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 100 mm
ISO Speed: 400
On my road is a flower stall run by a woman and her mother. Both are very friendly. When I go past them in the morning, they atr ertting up their stall. They always try to get me to buy flowers from them. They call out, buy flowers, very fresh!". In the evening hwen I go past they ask me to buy flowers, they call out, "Buy flowers, very cheap".
This evening she thrust two large bunches, of what seemed to me to be dafodills at me. "Very cheap, you buy". When I explained that I had no money, she told me "You pay me tomorrow".
So now I have two bunches of daggs in my apartment. They will probably be dead by tomorrow, so I thought it best to photograp them this evening.
If anyone can tell me what these flowers really are, I would appreciate it.

The view from my balcony
I know this is becoming a cliched photograph for me; however, yesterday started off dark and wet, but when the rain stopped, it became a really clear day, the sort of day where you should head up to the peak and take a shot of the city. Unfortunately, I had to meet up with a colleague who was visitting Hong Kong, and after that it was too late, so I went out onto my balcony......

Trying out new software
I have been trying out some new software called portrait professional, and I am quite impressed. It sorts out skin problems and generally makes your plane Jane into a super model. OK that's going a bit too far, but its a lot better and quicker than doing all that skin smoothing stuff in photoshop. You can find the software here http://www.portraitprofessional.com and you get a free trial

fencing
Really peeved off! After all the news about professional cameras not being allowed in to the Olypics, I left my kit at home and set off equipped with only a P&S. In the end they have just banned tripods and monopods. Mind you the sport and the atmosphere waqs great.
Giant China Team Olympic Top
Yep, I am in Beijing at the moment.
Taken with a P&S: I couldn't be bothered to drag all my SLR gear up here.

A drunk photographer on a humid night with a cold camera
Last night, I staggered back from the bars of Lang Kwai Fong, a little bit worse for wear. In my illogical state of mind I thought it would be clever to take a photo with the M8 on its highest ISO setting. I knew it would be noisy, but wanted to see how Noise Ninja could handle it.
Taking a camera from an air conditioned room outside, on a humid night, isn't the cleverest thing to do, but the misting on the lens created some nice effects.
